To All Our Christmas Ghosts

To All Our Christmas Ghosts

And so, my little candle

flickering quiet upon the sill,

Whispering light in kind regard

with seasonal goodwill.

Light thy lonesome window

tell the world we’re here at home,

Tell them we’ll be spending Christmas..

…by fireside coals of all alone.

And so, my little candle

with your amber tempered gaze,

Guarding our secluded residence

on the hills of darkened days.

Warn the snow and warm the breeze

shadow silhouettes who guide thy life,

Flicker soft this melancholic Christmas

…as we sit in peace tonight.

And so, my little candle

with your yellowed purple flame,

Sing the hymns the choirs announce

and we’ll sing them once again.

Hark for bells tolling far away…..

…as a reminiscent child is cast,

…of when his Christmas dined with emotions bright

Unwrapping gifts of presents past.

And so, my little candle

slowly dancing within our breath,

As we protect each other from the cold

a lasting Christmas, now bereft.

Glow with ambient tendencies

leave this day to thoughts of those …

…whom have travelled beyond the stars and skies

raise your glass to Christmas ghosts.
