Driftwood

Driftwood

Like the semblance of life upon driftwood

we cling onto emotions forebode,

crying with seasons guarding discreet

holding hands silently rescuing hope.

Raise eyebrows to the presence of rainbows

above clouds of heavy deceit,

move with the freedom dictated by friends

follow only dancers with delicate feet.

Smile at false wisdom of sages

observe from a distance alone,

let loose your mind to accentuate the positive

find comfort only in chairs that you own.

Float amongst debris less demanding

breathe under waters vaguely unseen,

watch from the tides that lap on the shore

leave footprints to where only you’ve been.

Like the semblance of life upon driftwood

placate deeper visions layered in heed,

be one with the voice that calls out your name

drift like wood in the world you believe .
